It is not uncommon for water service lines to break and begin leaking when the ground shifts due to freezing and thawing cycles. Sewer lines can back-up or break due to tree root growth.
As a homeowner, you are responsible for the repair and maintenance of the water and sewer service lines typically from your property line to your house.
- A broken water service line can cost $2,500 or more to repair.
- A broken sewer service line can cost $5,000 to repair.
The costs of repairing or replacing water and sewer service lines are generally not covered by typical homeowner’s insurance policies or they have large deductibles. Contact your insurance agent for details.
Enrolling in the Service Sentinel℠ maintenance plan can save you hundreds, even thousands of dollars in repairs.
